我認為本篇可能有誤植，在goodread上提問。讀友Shari 認為此篇「漏了一個逗點」，想法和我在方向上一致。這一方面給我很大的鼓勵，另一方面可能也開啟了漂鳥集的考據勘誤之門。從來都是依原文照單全收去譯，現在可以考慮誤植的可能、泰戈爾翻譯不夠清晰或精確的可能，這麼一來，一些不知所云的詩篇，有可能可以找到答案。

原篇是：

I think of other ages that floated upon the stream of life and love and death and are forgotten, and I feel the freedom of passing away.

我擅自加一個逗點，減一個 "and"，推敲原篇應該作：

I think of other ages that floated upon the stream of life(,)
 and love and death [and] are forgotten,
 and I feel the freedom of passing away.

並根據自以為是的原文來翻譯。

生命的長河自然包含生、愛、死亡。說 "生命、愛與死的巨流中" 反而拗口又不清楚。

愛和死亡都因生命而發生，即，"愛和死亡" 和 "生命、愛和死亡" 是同義，但更簡潔。

被遺忘的是什麼？ages 還是 love and death？
